Inspired Herbal Medicine
Life after cancer
I work with patients who have had a cancer diagnosis. In my view patients need support after a traumatic diagnosis and completion of chemo, radiation or surgery treatments, in order to navigate life after cancer --the level and type of support is decided by you.
Many patients experience significant post-treatment fatigue, due to chemo, surgery or radiation.
Typically, patients may feel emotionally depleted and can experience anxiety, many having problems with sleep and fitting back into the post-treatment world of remission.
Patients can have toxic load from the cancer and the treatments and can use some natural help to come back to balance.
Patients can have nutritional depletions and excess oxidation and free radicals.
Many patients have lingering side effects or symptoms; for example, local skin issues with radiation, lymphatic problems, dry membranes, bowel problems to name some.
Finally, many patients they feel they need advice on supporting their immunity forward in a more proactive way.
I can help you to strengthen the body and the mind, using personalised herbal formulations, some natural compounds, gut-restoration nutritional protocol and lifestyle advice. The aim is to help you return faster to normality physically and mentally, and to help restore your energy and metabolic balance.
IBD: Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis
Crohn’s is an autoimmune condition causing severe transmural ulceration of the digestive track which can affect the whole track from the mouth to the anus in skip lesions, while Ulcerative Colitis affects the mucosal layer of the rectum / descending colon in a continuous lesion. Both involve immune, hormonal and nervous system factors. Patients can suffer fatigue and weight loss, bloody stools and can have painful flare ups.
Endobiogenic Medicine identifies hormonal imbalances as terrain factors in the development of these conditions; I work by creating herbal formulations that can address hormonal imbalances and triggers of your system, support the rebuilding of the gut wall and establish a food protocol that can reduce inflammation. You discover more about how to better regulate your immune system and mitigate the risk factors of serious complications.
Female system pathologies: Endometriosis, cysts, fibroids, polycystic ovaries and PCOS
Endometriosis, ‘chocolate’ cysts
Endometriosis is a complex inflammatory condition of excess endometrial tissue build-up. In severe cases endometriosis tissue develops outside the uterus, on ovaries, around or within pelvic and digestive organs, creating inflammation and adhesions; over time these adhesions produce a secondary cause of pain.
Signs of pain during ovulation (normally about two weeks after the start of the period) and very painful or heavy periods can be the first signs; symptoms can be tolerable at the outset, but they can progress with terrain degradation often when the patient faces an emotional or physical stress. Many patients also face energy deficits that contribute to the problem and dysregulated activation of the nervous system, hypersensitivity and congestion of the entire pelvic and abdominal areas.
Endometriosis is on the rise but still many women struggle to find help. For many endometriosis patients one of the main issues is management of pain, which in many cases does not seem to be lowered by painkillers or contraceptive pills. Pain can also be experienced after endometriosis surgery with post-surgery inflammation, and this needs special awareness. For women of reproductive age, fertility is a major consideration; incremental regulation and reduction of inflammation can help improve your natural chances.
My approach includes herbal formulations and nutritional support that aim to improve balance of hormones, reduction of toxicity, release of pelvic inflammatory congestion, regulation of nervous system overactivity and anti-inflammatory nutrition guidance. This can be used alongside other approaches or as a maintainance approach depending on each case.
Polycystic ovaries, pcos, fibroids
In polycystic ovarian syndrome relative excess of androgens can disrupt the ovarian function, presenting problems for the maturing of follicles and ova, in combination with hyperglycemia and insulin dysregulation; in the case of fibroids (leiomyomas) androgens contribute to growths of myometrial origin (the muscle of the uterus). These conditions can often show with heavy bleeds, pain, or acne.
My approach is holistic, with hormonal-balancing herbal formulations, liver support, release of pelvic congestion and nutritional advice around insulin and inflammation. It is important to start management as early as possible for best results.
Case report
My client had endometriosis and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), and was seen post-surgery; experiencing extreme and constant pain, severe sleep deprivation and debilitating headaches; she was confined to home. Following herbal treatment and nutritional support for four months, her constant pain and hormonal headaches resolved, she is able to sleep and has been able to resume a normal life.
Client Testimonial, Endometriosis and PCOS
On first appointment with Angelique, which was January 2023, I was experiencing excruciating pains for many many months, which consisted of paralysing episodes, and feeling constant ripping and stabbing sensations. I went in unable to go to school, as I just couldn't bare the pain, and we were grasping at too many possible causes. Following Angelique's herbal treatment, and nutritional advice, she has helped me so much, and now I'm pain free since April 2023.
In our sessions, when pinpointing which areas of my body were properly impacted, she always went into great detail about why this was happening, giving a much clearer insight to how our bodies and hormones actually work. Her practise and knowledge is extremely extensive, and her methods are very effective as they target multiple parts of the body, as she understands that any illness never only causes one issue.
I am extremely grateful for her kindness, and her diligence with me when I struggled. She is a very kind and understanding practitioner who appreciates any perspective, and will tailor her practise to best suit her patients. Testimonial by H.C.
